Let's get one thing straight. The Bible does not endorse or support homosexuality at all. It condemns it (along with many other behaviors) as sinful and wicked, declares it is not acceptable to God and says it will prevent the practitioner from having a relationship with God and spending eternity in Heaven with Him.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Leviticus 18:22
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:13
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things. Romans 1:27-28
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind...shall inherit the kingdom of God. I Corinthians 6:9-10
One can argue all day and night that this verse really means that and that word really means this in the original Greek, but there is no getting around it - the overall thrust of the Biblical commentary on homosexuality is that it is not OK and is not acceptable to God. Those who want to pretend that You can be gay and please the God of the Bible are merely fooling themselves so they can do what they want and feel good about it. They won't feel so good about themselves or anything else come Judgement Day.
And yes, yes, yes, there are many other sins that are unacceptable to God. The heterosexual pervert will be in hot water on the J Day also. But what does that have to do with whether homosexuality is acceptable to God or not? Not a darn thing. Pointing and yelling, "Look, God, those straight people are sinners, too," won't help.
No God doesn't hate gays. The Bible says He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and that He sent His Son Jesus into the world that all might be saved. I don't hate gays either. If God doesn't why should I? If He wants all to be saved then I do too. But He has something not that many humans have anymore - standards. And you can't violate His standards and expect to enter into Heaven.
So if you want to be gay, go ahead. Please don't pretend, however, that it can be a part of Biblical Christianity.
